XTERRA Waco attracts athletes from 25 states

XTERRA SOUTH CENTRAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT CAMERON PARK IN WACO, TEXAS ALL SET FOR APRIL 16-17

More than 500 trail runners and triathletes from 25 states across the U.S. will descend on Cameron Park in Waco, Texas for the second running of the XTERRA South Central Championship weekend on April 16-17.

Among them you’ll find 65-year-old Richard Suggs from Nacogdoches, TX; a quartet of young-at-heart 50-54 division women; college students like 19-year-old Baylor undergrad Blake McTee and 20-year-old UT-Arlington student Natalia Sampaio; die-hards flying in from Anchorage, Alaska and North Haverhill, New Hampshire; and more than 20 of the world’s finest professional athletes.

Their challenge – a mile-long swim in the Brazos River, a 15-mile mountain bike adventure thru Cameron Park’s renowned trails, and a 6.2-mile trail run.  All the action starts and finishes at Redwood Shelter in Cameron Park on April 17, and XTERRA also hosts free triathlon clinics and 5,10, and 21km trail runs.

The weekend starts on Friday as one and all are invited to Bicycles Outback (4707 West Waco Drive, Waco) for a night with 4x XTERRA World Champion Conrad Stoltz and 3x XTERRA World Champion Melanie McQuaid on April 15 at 5:30pm.  Settle in for a night of questions with two of the most successful XTERRA athletes on the planet. Find out all you want to know about bike set up, nutrition, training, and living as a pro. Snacks and drinks provided by Bicycles Outback.  $10 gift card for the first 25 in the door.
